It’s easy to look at GuideStone and see a broad-based financial services organization, providing retirement, life and health, property and casualty, and disability and life coverages to almost 200,000 people around the world.
And while that is an important part of our ministry assignment, the DNA of GuideStone rests with dear soldiers of the cross — the very people this ministry was founded to assist more than 90 years ago.
Through our Mission:Dignity ministry, we support more than 2,100 retired ministers and their widows with monthly assistance checks that they can use to stay in their own home, purchase food or needed medications. In fact, as the name suggests, these checks help ensure a well-deserved dignity, continued independence and frequently the ability to continue serving.
So how can you help? GuideStone is looking for men and women who can help get the word out to their churches and Sunday school classes about Mission:Dignity Sunday — celebrated this year on June 27. Order our information kit, including brochures and a DVD (or VHS) copy of our newest video that ably demonstrates the circumstances in which these precious soldiers of the cross find themselves.
You can also help by making a one-time, recurring or other gift to the Mission:Dignity ministry. Every penny you give goes directly to helping people in need — no money is used for administrative purposes. Gifts are tax deductible to the maximum amount allowed by law.
