GuideStone Advisors marks first year of GPS: Guided Planning Services
October 4, 2010
DALLAS — More than 4,000 GuideStone participants have made use of GPS: Guided Planning Services* during its first year of operation. Awareness continues to grow, as total participant usage of the free tool has increased each quarter since its launch.
The service is designed to help participants develop a customized retirement investment strategy. Through a series of questions, it analyzes participants’ current financial situation, and then provides individualized guidance, along with an action plan to meet the participants’ needs.
“The No. 1 question we hear in our customer call center is, ‘Can you please just tell me the right place to invest my retirement account’,” said GuideStone Financial Resources President O.S. Hawkins. “Participants that have used the service recognize the need for serious retirement planning and the GPS service now provides them a resource to set their financial retirement goals and analyze how they are progressing toward meeting those goals.”
Participants using the service are an average age of about 53 years of age, with average retirement-plan assets more than double the average GuideStone participant; however, the service is available for free to all participants, regardless of age or account balance.
GPS can be completed online, or can be completed with free over-the-phone assistance. Participants desiring that service should set up an appointment by calling 1-888-98-GUIDE (1-888-984-8433) between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. CST.
