John Murphy is a licensed insurance professional with a passion and calling to lead GuideStone’s Insurance Sales with integrity and excellence. John has been leading our Sales and Relationship Management teams since 2017.
John’s heartbeat is for this program to become the premier employee benefits and risk management solution for the Church.
John has served at GuideStone® since 2012 and was named Rookie of the Year by Brotherhood Mutual® in 2013. John was named Brotherhood Mutual’s Agent of the Year Runner-up in 2015. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Auburn University and an MBA from Dallas Baptist University. Before coming to GuideStone, John worked for an insurance company providing risk management services.
In addition to helping clients, John plays an active role in his church and community and has served as a deacon. Having grown up as a missionary kid, he enjoys leading and participating in mission trips worldwide. John and his wife, Brittany, were married in 2009.
John has a passion to see local churches thrive, make disciples and impact the globe for Christ. He relies on biblical principles to guide him, which is reflected in his favorite Bible verse:
