How does it work?

Start-up Contributions and Matching Benefits

After your newly planted church sets up a church retirement plan through GuideStone:

Texas Baptists will make an initial $1,000 contribution to help you start saving as early as possible
Beginning the calendar year after the initial contribution, Texas Baptists will make a $600 annual contribution to the account for up to three years—provided that you and/or your church contribute at least $50 per month to the retirement plan.*

*This program is separate from and in addition to other state convention benefits

GuideStone provides the Southern Baptist Churches 403(b)(9) Retirement Plan , a 403 (b)(9) retirement plan designed for Southern Baptist church employees receiving W-2 taxable income from their church, which includes offerings such as:

One-on-one guidance from a financial consultant*
Allows both employee deferrals and employer contributions to the plan
Housing allowance exclusion for retired ministers
