What should our church do when a background check turns up a criminal record?

A good general rule is to use the same criteria followed by the local public school system. If the public school system is prohibited from employing the candidate, then your ministry would do well to avoid employing or involving the candidate. You can find out what criteria are used by contacting your local public school system directly or by enlisting the help of an attorney.

How does your policy cover special events and mission trips?

Separate policies can be purchased for both special events and mission trip coverage. When an accident occurs during church, school or camp activities, accident insurance plans will help by providing coverage for medical expenses associated with accidental injuries, with deductibles as low as $0.
