Mission:Dignity® recipients in Arkansas will receive extra checks in 2023, thanks to generous donors to the Arkansas Baptist Foundation.
Since 2021, the Arkansas Baptist Foundation has worked through GuideStone® to provide extra checks to Mission:Dignity recipients within their state.
“We continue to be blessed by seeing the impact of the Mission:Dignity 13th Check program in Arkansas,” said Bobby Thomas, president and chief executive officer of the Arkansas Baptist Foundation. “GuideStone has been a tremendous partner in meeting the needs of so many during such a critical time. We are truly thankful for our partnership.”
In 2022, Mission:Dignity assisted more than 2,800 individuals with extra money needed for housing, food and vital medications. It also ensures a well-deserved dignity, independence and, often, the ability to continue serving the Lord. Last year, 65 pastors and their wives, or their widows, in Arkansas were served through Mission:Dignity.
GuideStone President Hance Dilbeck expressed his thanks for the continued generosity of the Arkansas Baptist Foundation.
“It is a tremendous privilege to ensure these faithful Southern Baptist pastors who have retired, or the widows of retired SBC pastors, have the double-honor that is due them,” Dilbeck said. “That the Arkansas Baptist Foundation saw fit to ensure these extra honorariums is indeed a blessing to each of the faithful pastors and the wives who served alongside them throughout their ministries.”
Mission:Dignity expressed its thankfulness for the efforts of Arkansas churches.
“Arkansas Baptists have always been faithful supporters of Mission:Dignity,” Aaron Meraz, director of Mission:Dignity said. “We are so thankful the Arkansas Baptist Foundation continues to join us in our effort to provide dignity to the Lord’s retired servants.”
