DALLAS
Leaders of various Southern Baptist Asian American organizations met in person with GuideStone® leaders this month for a time of conversation and fellowship. The meeting is part of an ongoing series of conversations between leaders to discuss how GuideStone can better serve Asian American pastors and churches.
“At GuideStone, we strive toward our vision that every servant of Christ finishes well,” GuideStone President Hance Dilbeck said. “Across our enterprise, we’re looking at everything we’re doing so that we can enhance financial security and resilience for those who serve the Lord. We enjoyed our conversations with these Asian American leaders who share our vision and goals for the churches they represent in Southern Baptist life.”
The meetings included reports and greetings from Dilbeck, GuideStone Chief Operating Officer Chu Soh and Hoon Im, who relates to Asian American churches for GuideStone.
“It’s always an honor to speak to any group of our members and ministry partners and learn how we can continue to serve well the many constituencies within our Southern Baptist family,” Soh said.
Each GuideStone ministry area provided reports to members of the Asian American Collective about services available to churches through retirement, investments, life and health plans, and church insurance.
“The opportunity to engage in discussion with Dr. Dilbeck, COO Chu Soh, and the GuideStone leadership was fruitful and an encouragement to our group,” said Hyung Lee, pastor/elder at the Living Rock Church of Pasadena, California. “We look forward to strengthening this collaborative partnership, so that more SBC Asian American/Canadian pastors can benefit from what GuideStone has provided since 1918.”
Im, GuideStone’s Asian American specialist, agreed.
“We’re tremendously grateful for the opportunity to meet with these ministry partners so we can learn from one another and ultimately build stronger collaborations across our Convention,” Im said.
