DALLAS
Mission:Dignity®, a ministry of GuideStone®, is inviting friends and supporters to make a life-changing impact this Giving Tuesday, December 2. Thanks to the generosity of committed donors, the first $750,000 in gifts will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling the help provided to retired Southern Baptist ministers, workers, and their widows in need.
Mission:Dignity exists to honor these faithful servants by providing financial assistance to cover basic needs such as food, utilities, and medical care. For many recipients, these monthly grants are the difference between choosing groceries or prescriptions.
“Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to show gratitude to those who spent their lives serving others,” said Aaron Meraz, director of Mission:Dignity. “The matching gifts mean your generosity goes twice as far.”
GuideStone President Hance Dilbeck added, “Mission:Dignity reflects the heart of Southern Baptists. These men and women served sacrificially for decades, and now we have the privilege to stand with them in their time of need. We are blessed by the opportunities to support these God-honoring servants in their latter years.”
Supporters can make a tax-deductible gift at MissionDignity.org/GivingTuesday. All donations received on Giving Tuesday will directly benefit retired ministers and their widows who often live at or below the poverty line.
Mission:Dignity currently assists almost 2,800 retired Southern Baptist ministers, workers, and in most cases their widows nationwide, providing dignity and financial support in their later years. With the matching challenge, donors can help ensure these faithful servants never have to worry about basic necessities.
