Aja Howell oversees GuideStone’s Human Resources functions, including talent management, recruitment, compensation and benefits and enterprise culture. She joined GuideStone in 2022.
Aja brings more than two decades of experience in Organizational Development, Human Resources, and external consulting. Before joining GuideStone, she spent seven years with the Sempra family of companies — a Fortune 500 Utility — where she provided leadership in talent management, employee engagement, and all aspects and levels of the company’s organizational development and learning functions. Prior to that experience, Aja ran an independent consultancy practice for ten years, with more than a dozen consulting partners serving more than 350 different non-profits, faith-based organizations and government agencies.
Howell holds a master’s degree in Organizational Development from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University.
