Do I have to be a member of a Southern Baptist church for any position?

Only a few positions list membership in a Southern Baptist church as a requirement, including most positions with client-facing responsibilities; however, exceptions can be made.

I have an interview. What can I do to prepare?

GuideStone recruiters suggest the following:

  • Familiarize yourself with the content of your resume.
  • Review the job description to determine how your background applies.
  • Be prepared to cite examples of your key professional accomplishments or related academic work.
  • Read the basic information about GuideStone’s culture, history, clients, etc.
  • Ask your recruiter for more information about the business unit with which you will be interviewing.
  • Prepare a list of job-related questions to bring to the interview.
How long does the hiring process take?

While it varies, most people have at least two rounds of face-to-face interviews — the first with a recruiter and/or hiring manager(s), the second with the hiring team. Most posted positions are available immediately, but the hiring process can vary significantly in length and depends on several factors, including the skills needed and the number of qualified candidates.

What is the salary range of the position for which I applied?

All jobs have a broad salary range that accommodates those employees who are becoming proficient at their positions and those who are already quite skilled. Your starting salary will depend upon your experience and perceived proficiency at your job. GuideStone reviews its salary structure regularly to ensure we remain competitive with market standards.

Does GuideStone recruit college students?

Yes! GuideStone recruits both undergraduate and graduate students for a variety of internships and full-time positions. Apply online.

Does GuideStone offer summer internships?

Yes. If you are interested in an internship, please check the online job listings. All internship opportunities are for the summer, and recruitment starts during the fall of the previous year. Apply here.

Does GuideStone attend recruiting events?

Yes, we attend multiple career fairs on college campuses in the spring and fall.

Will I have the opportunity to learn about GuideStone’s entire business and client base?

Yes. You will spend your first several days of employment in our Training and Development Department, becoming familiar with GuideStone’s work practices and the products and services we offer, as well as touring the building to see where departments are located.

Does GuideStone offer flexible work schedules and work hours?

Yes. We offer the 9/80 work schedule, allowing most employees to work 80 hours in a two-week period and have every other Friday off. Most departments offer flexible work hours, with some beginning work as early as 6:45 a.m. and others as late as 8 a.m.

How many employees work at GuideStone?

There are more than 400 employees, including professions and skills in accounting, actuarial services, insurance and risk management, investments, law, marketing, sales, retirement administration and customer solutions with both an inbound and outbound call center.
