What to do if you see suspicious activity?

 

  1. Contact GuideStone® immediately at 1-888-98-GUIDE (1-888-984-8433). Specialists are available to assist participants Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT. In the event of reporting suspicious activity, we ask that you call instead of sending us an email, so your issue may be addressed immediately.
  2. Do not attempt to log into your account.
  3. You could be providing the fraudsters with access to your accounts.
  4. Install or update antivirus software.
  5. Run an antivirus scan on all your computers to ensure that they are not infected with a virus or malware. Also, make sure your computer’s operating software is up-to-date.
  6. Change your passphrase.
  7. Change your passphrase for GuideStone, your email account and/or any other accounts that shared the same password.

 

What should you do in the event of identity theft?

 

  1. Know signs that you may be a victim of identity theft.
  2. Unexpected entries or inaccurate information on your credit reports
  3. Phone calls or letters from debt collectors for unknown debt
  4. Bills and statements that you normally receive via U.S. Mail® have stopped arriving
  5. Unexpectedly denied for credit or its offered at a high interest rate
  6. Unauthorized withdrawals or charges
  7. Install or update antivirus software.
  8. Run an antivirus scan on all your devices to ensure that they are not infected with a virus or malware. Also, make sure your devices’s operating software is up-to-date.
  9. Change all passwords and passphrases.
  10. Change your passphrase for GuideStone, your email account and/or any other accounts that shared the same password.
  11. Report the crime to law enforcement.
  12. Your local police will file a formal report and provide additional resources.
  13. Request a fraud alert.
  14. Contact one of the three credit bureaus and request that a fraud alert be added to your file. This will require the bureaus to take additional steps to verify your identity. Once you contact one bureau, they should notify the other two.

  20. Report identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

  22. Create an Identity Theft Report.
  23. Call GuideStone if you become a victim of identity theft.
