When to Take Action on Your Security

  1. What to do if you see suspicious activity?
  2. Contact GuideStone® immediately at 1-888-98-GUIDE (1-888-984-8433). Specialists are available to assist participants Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT. In the event of reporting suspicious activity, we ask that you call instead of sending us an email, so your issue may be addressed immediately.
  3. Do not attempt to log into your account.
  4. You could be providing the fraudsters with access to your accounts.
  5. Install or update antivirus software.
  6. Run an antivirus scan on all your computers to ensure that they are not infected with a virus or malware. Also, make sure your computer’s operating software is up-to-date.
  7. Change your passphrase.
  8. Change your passphrase for GuideStone, your email account and/or any other accounts that shared the same password.
  9. What should you do in the event of identity theft?
  10. Know signs that you may be a victim of identity theft.
  11. Unexpected entries or inaccurate information on your credit reports
  12. Phone calls or letters from debt collectors on something you didn’t authorize
  13. Bills and statements that you normally receive via U.S. Mail® have stopped arriving
  14. Unexpectedly denied for credit or offered at a high interest rate
  15. Install or update antivirus software.
  16. Run an antivirus scan on all your computers to ensure that they are not infected with a virus or malware. Also, make sure your computer’s operating software is up-to-date.
  17. Change all passwords and passphrases.
  18. Change your passphrase for GuideStone, your email account and/or any other accounts that shared the same password.
  19. Request a fraud alert.
  20. Contact one of the three credit bureaus and request that a fraud alert be added to your file. This will require the bureaus to take additional steps to verify your identity. Once you contact one bureau, they will notify the other two.

  21. Review your credit report.
  22. Free reports are available at AnnualCreditReport.com.
  23. Report identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
  24. Go to IdentityTheft.gov or call 1-877-438-4338.
  25. Create an Identity Theft Report.
  26. Contact GuideStone if you become a victim of identity theft.
